What does a typical day at work look like for you?

My workday starts at 5 a.m. with a meeting with my Pre-Packaging team, supervisors and coordinators to prepare for the day. We discuss where each team member will be working that day and any pressing information that may have come up. During the day, we process work orders of different types and quantities of product. My 10-hour shifts go by quickly with my team’s help because we work so well together.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

My coworkers! We all get up early every morning and give our best effort and attitude every day. It’s not easy to get up at three or four in the morning to come to work, but we come in singing or laughing together and that always helps. We all work very hard to perform the best we can.

What has been a highlight during your time at Arthrex?

There have been many positive experiences in the 15 years I’ve been working here. I started in the Finishing department when there were only a few people. Over the years, I’ve worked in many departments, including Cleaning, Packaging, Sutures, Machining and now I’m in Pre-Packaging with more than 500 other people. It’s incredible to see how Arthrex has grown!

What is the best advice you’ve received throughout your career?

I’ve heard so many wonderful things over the years, but my parents always told me to never give up and, ‘It’s not what you achieve, it’s what you overcome.’ That has helped me a lot, because in the difficult moments, those words have echoed in my mind and given me strength to continue.

What do you do in your downtime?

I have a wonderful husband, two children and a grandson with whom I have a lot of fun in my free time. I love to travel and do different activities, especially ones that are good exercise. Each Monday through Friday I look forward to my hour-long Boot Camp, which is always great exercise.
