Mission

Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better®

We are proud to be a privately held company focused solely on one mission: Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better®. This allows for the rapid evaluation of new technologies and ideas, and the freedom to develop products and techniques that truly make a difference in people’s lives. This mission also drives the company’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions, clinical excellence, operational results and value for our customers.

History

Arthrex began in 1980 on a simple drafting table in the Olympic Village in Munich, Germany. Anticipating that arthroscopy might revolutionize sports medicine and orthopedics, President and Founder Reinhold Schmieding founded a small start-up company to pioneer this new technology. His vision was to make it possible for surgeons to treat joint injuries and arthritis through minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques.

Arthrex is proud to manufacture products in America and has U.S.-based manufacturing facilities in Florida, South Carolina and California.
