We invite you to learn more about Arthrex and the positive contributions we are making to medicine and the communities we serve.

Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better®

We are proud to be a privately held company focused solely on one mission: Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better®. This allows for the rapid evaluation of new technologies and ideas, and the freedom to develop products and techniques that truly make a difference in people’s lives. This mission also drives the company’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions, clinical excellence, operational results and value for our customers.

Arthrex began in 1980 on a simple drafting table in the Olympic Village in Munich, Germany. Anticipating that arthroscopy might revolutionize sports medicine and orthopedics, President and Founder Reinhold Schmieding founded a small start-up company to pioneer this new technology. His vision was to make it possible for surgeons to treat joint injuries and arthritis through minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques.

Arthrex global headquarters in Naples, Florida is a sprawling, university-style campus that serves as an education destination for HCPs around the world. Visitors to this campus will find a vibrant atmosphere of product innovation, scientific research and surgeon collaboration.

Arthrex is proud to manufacture products in America and has U.S.-based manufacturing facilities in Florida, South Carolina and California.

Arthrex also has regional headquarters in Munich, Germany and Singapore, as well as subsidiaries and locations throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Products and Innovation

From elite athletes to active adults of all ages, Arthrex is dedicated to making people better at every stage of life. Arthrex develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that help treat orthopedic injuries and arthritis so patients around the world can continue to enjoy an active lifestyle.
