Purchase Card Administrator Danny Reyna recently returned from his first Trip of a Lifetime, courtesy of the renowned Arthrex employee benefit. Not only do employees receive a company-funded trip after every five years of service, they also get an extra week of PTO to take the vacation. Danny shared about his trip:
“For my five-year Trip of a Lifetime, my wife and I visited London, Munich and Paris. This was my first journey to Europe and we were very excited.
In London, we visited multiple museums, my favorite of which was Blenheim Palace. It’s a couple hours outside of London, so getting there was half the fun. I even drove on what felt like the wrong side of the road! We got to see some of the countryside which is a really nice part of England. Back in London, we enjoyed afternoon tea, which is much more than just a cup of tea! Since it was our first time, our host thoroughly explained the British tradition, the different types of tea and etiquette. Also included was a large, tiered tray filled with fruit, meats, cheeses, sandwiches, scones and cakes. It was all very tasty.
Our next stop was Munich. We visited Arthrex GmbH for a tour and to say hello to a few coworkers, which has been a goal of mine since I first started working at Arthrex. I’ve been able to visit a few other Arthrex locations through my business travels and our EMEA headquarters were next on my list. It was nice to put some names to faces and see the reception area decorated in the Oktoberfest spirit. We also joined the fun at Oktoberfest, where we met some of our close friends. We met people from all over the world, sang, danced, and enjoyed German fare.
Paris was our third and final stop. We spent most of our time exploring the City of Love and enjoying the incredible cuisine. Every meal was my favorite meal in Paris, but the one that stood out the most was a picnic by the Eiffel Tower. It was the perfect ending to our European adventure.
I’m very grateful to work for a company that treats their employees so well and I’m looking forward to my 10-year trip!”
