Arthrex hosted another successful Career Showcase on the Naples campus Tuesday, January 3, drawing nearly 500 high school and college students, recent graduates and accompanying parents interested in learning about internship and career opportunities within the company.
The first floor of the Arthrex One building was once again transformed into an exciting venue of interactive exhibits that showcased Arthrex’s innovative technologies and provided creative, engaging demonstrations and activities, including a video set and selfie booth. Attendees were able to interact with Arthrex products and technologies and talk with employees about the education and skills needed to perform various roles.
Arthrex Corporate Engagement Supervisor Meg Hart said the goal of the showcase was to provide students the opportunity to learn more about the variety of careers available in the medical device industry, right here in Southwest Florida.
High school junior Ava Aloria found the showcase to be a very educational experience.
“I’ve known since fifth grade that I wanted to be a doctor,” she said. “Coming here today solidified that.”
Frances Clever, who is currently working on a master’s degree at Indiana University, said, “Each person I met was friendly, inviting and open to answering all the questions I had. The biggest takeaway I had is that Arthrex is a globally connected company that truly values its people and the work that it does.”
Arthrex Senior Manager, Accounting and Reporting Diane Waldrop brought her high school-aged daughter to the showcase along with her eldest daughter and a family friend, both currently enrolled at Florida State University.
“They all thought the event was a great opportunity to network,” Diane said. “They found the product displays insightful and loved hearing about the day-to-day activities within the various departments.”
