5 Questions with Arthrex Conference and Catering Setup Technician I Moises Almaraz

Arthrex, Inc.

As a Conference and Catering Setup Technician I, Moises Almaraz helps ensure meetings and events at the Naples global headquarters campus run smoothly. He and his team are responsible for setting up all events from small internal meetings to large Medical Education events and employee events like Holiday Nights.

Moises has been with Arthrex for three years and says his favorite Arthrex product is the SwiveLock® anchor.

“I used to work in the Clean Room at Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. East (AMIE) before transferring to Naples and these were my favorite products because they help people in so many different ways,” he said.

Read on to learn more about Moises and his role on the Meetings and Events team.

How do you impact our mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better® in your role?

My role gives me the unique opportunity to be hands-on with all educational events that pass through the Naples campus and exposes me to a variety of domestic and international departments.

Our team is tasked with creating a space that inspires forward thinking, while working behind the scenes to provide a comfortable learning experience so attendees can stay engaged with the presentations. Attendees range from tenured surgeons to students just starting their medical careers.

In this way, I believe my team plays a crucial part in the knowledge given to all attendees at any event and it is exciting knowing we have an impact on all who visit Arthrex.

What inspires you the most at Arthrex?

I am most inspired by how much President and Founder Reinhold Schmieding invests in his employees. There are a variety of ways Arthrex gives back to its employees. It is inspiring to see how successful the company has become and for him to invest it back in his employees. This is truly the most inspiring thing at Arthrex for me.

What is your favorite success story at Arthrex?

My favorite success stories are the Stay in the Game stories involving athletes and how Arthrex helped them get back to doing what they love. To read their stories and see the passion that drives them is inspiring in and of itself, but to know the company I work for is behind these success stories makes me Arthrex Proud.

How do you describe the Arthrex culture?

The Arthrex culture inspires innovation and nurtures creativity. The time I spent at AMIE showed me a side many employees don’t get to see and that’s the many stages of hard work that goes into every product from engineering to assembling and ultimately packaging. From parts to fully assembled instruments, all of us at Arthrex play a crucial role.

Our core value is Making People Better. How has Arthrex made you better?

Arthrex has made me better by giving me the confidence to know I can make changes to improve myself. A perfect example is the courses offered through the Learning and Development department. I took the Seven Habits course, which pushed me to strive for more and know my worth. While this has been impactful in my professional life, my personal life has also been positively impacted by it. I am very thankful to Arthrex and Reinhold for allowing me to make an impact on the mission to help surgeons treat their patients better.
