After a team-wide poll conducted by Learning Program Customer Success Manager Josie Foy, it was decided that the Medical Education Technology team would spend its Volunteer PTO Day at Baker Senior Center Naples.

“We have quite a few remote employees on our team,” Josie said, “so we purposely timed our volunteer day to coincide with our first All-Hands Meeting, when everyone would be in town.”

Baker Senior Center Naples (formerly Naples Senior Center) is committed to supporting and enriching the lives of seniors and their families in Collier and southern Lee counties. The center, located in North Naples, is a dynamic gathering place with a safe, nurturing environment for seniors to socialize, learn and stay active. And, according to the Medical Education Technology team, it’s also a great place to spend a Volunteer PTO Day.

“Baker Senior Center provided a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our bonds as a team while also strengthening Arthrex’s connections within our local community,” said Learning Program Analyst Richard Shafer.

The team spent the day writing messages in greeting cards to be distributed among case-management clients, framing members’ artwork for display and organizing the center’s library.

“We’re really grateful for the opportunity to volunteer at Baker Senior Center,” said Director of Medical Education Technology Andrew Claassen. “It was an amazing experience that perfectly aligned to Arthrex’s core value of Making People Better. We not only brought joy to the members and staff, but also directly supported the center’s mission of providing confidence, connection and support to seniors. It felt great to be part of something so meaningful and impactful.”

Baker Senior Center Naples Volunteer Services Manager Debbie Lageman thanked the team for their time and effort.
