Lead Line Cook Marcus Williams has been with Arthrex since Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. South Carolina (AMISC) first began operations more than four years ago. His role as the lead on third shift is to cook lunch for night shift employees and to prep the kitchen for the day shift. Providing culinary support for third shift helps manufacturing remain on schedule because it allows for more employees to operate during the evening.

How do you impact our mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better® in your role?
When I first started with Arthrex, there was only one culinary shift, so I volunteered to work third shift to ensure the kitchen would be open for night shift employees. Now, I like to leave my schedule open so I can be there whenever and wherever I am needed.
What inspires you most at Arthrex?
I am inspired by Arthrex’s leadership and how everyone at the company focuses on the people. It is because of them that we have such great benefits, free lunches and the best medical team.
What is your favorite success story at Arthrex?
My favorite success story is how AMISC has grown since we opened here. I feel very blessed to have started with Arthrex when it first opened in South Carolina. It has been nice to see how the manufacturing floor has filled with machines and people, and how we have gone from a single building to having three with more on the way.
How do you describe the Arthrex culture?
The Arthrex culture is one that is team centered, and everyone gets an opportunity to participate.
I enjoy being able to participate in all the events and employee-related activities like answering these five questions, because it shows that no job within Arthrex is too small or unimportant, and everyone’s opinion matters.
Our core value is Making People Better. How has Arthrex made you better?
My whole career has been working in a kitchen. This meant I worked every weekend while my kids were growing up, and I couldn’t be at home with them. Working at Arthrex has made me a better father, because I can now better support my kids financially while also having more time to spend with them.
