Former MLB Star Dave Dravecky, Orthopedic Surgeon Highlight Life-Changing Impact of Eclipse™ Total Shoulder Arthroplasty System

Arthrex is honored to share that former Major League Baseball pitcher Dave Dravecky and orthopedic surgeon Michael Kissenberth, MD, recently appeared on The ROAR FM’s “Mickey Plyler Show” to discuss our innovative Eclipse™ Total Shoulder Arthroplasty System.

Just over three years ago, Dravecky, a cancer survivor and amputee, underwent a total shoulder replacement performed by Samuel Harmsen, MD, with Arthrex's groundbreaking technology, significantly enhancing his quality of life.

“I cannot tell you how pleased I’ve been with the Arthrex Eclipse shoulder,” Dravecky shared during the show. “Absolutely amazing. I have more flexibility and range of motion in my arm than I think I ever have.”

In the interview, Dr. Kissenberth, a leading orthopedic surgeon in Greenville, SC, provided insights into the unique features of the Eclipse system, highlighting its canal-sparing and stemless design.

“It’s the only anatomic shoulder replacement I use,” Kissenberth explained. “Amazingly, I see my patients, they have less pain post operatively, and improved motion. So to get patients not in pain, getting them back to activity is really a satisfying thing. The Eclipse is different and special in that way.”
