Justin Henderson Celebrates Five Years With a Seven-Day Disney Cruise

Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. South Carolina (AMISC) Lead Security Officer Justin Henderson recently celebrated five years of service at Arthrex by taking his wife, Edith, and son, Aidan, on a Disney cruise.

“We’ve visited Disney World numerous times in the past, and we always wanted to try one of their cruises,” Justin said. “Then Aidan started seeing Disney cruises advertised on television and in pop-up ads online, and that pretty much sealed the deal.”

Having never gone on a cruise before, Justin and Edith were a little nervous about the possibility of rough seas and feeling seasick, but – pun intended – Justin said, “it was smooth sailing the entire time.”

While aboard the Disney Fantasy, one of the five Disney Cruise Line ships, Justin and his family took full advantage of the amenities available. They spent time at the pool, enjoyed the ice cream parlor with its unlimited soft-serve ice cream, saw Broadway-style Aladdin and Frozen shows and attended a pirate-themed party.

The towel creations that greeted them each evening when they returned to their stateroom also provided entertainment.

“There was a frog, a whale, an elephant, Davy Jones from the Pirates of the Caribbean… and a couple that were a little hard to tell what they were supposed to be,” Justin said. “But Aidan loved them.”

In addition to the activities on board the ship, their seven-day Caribbean cruise included stops in Cozumel, Mexico, the Cayman Islands and Jamaica.

“We loved experiencing the diverse culture at each stop,” Justin said, “especially when we ventured away from the area immediately around the cruise ships to do our own exploring.”

Between being surrounded by the beauty of the ocean, the history at each port of call and – Aidan’s favorite – the kids’ clubs aboard the ship, the trip offered something for everyone.

One of their sea days also happened to be Justin’s birthday.

“There was a gift basket full of snacks in the room for me,” he said. “Then the waiters brought out a cake at dinner, and the whole restaurant serenaded me.”

Justin said they enjoyed their trip so much; he and Edith have started looking at other cruises they might want to take. Meanwhile, Aidan is already thinking about Justin’s 10-year Trip of a Lifetime, hoping for a trip to Africa so he can see giraffes out in the wild.

Justin thanked Arthrex for showing its appreciation for employees by providing the generous Years of Service benefit.

“Arthrex genuinely cares about its employees, and it shows in the benefits we’re provided.”

For every five years of employment with Arthrex, employees are eligible for a company-paid Trip of a Lifetime to recognize their dedication. Look for more Trip of a Lifetime highlights on the Arthrex Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn pages.
