Application Analyst Principal Praveen Koyyalamudi celebrated his five-year Arthrex anniversary with a trip home to India.

“It had been six long years since my family last visited India,” Praveen said, “and a lot had changed in that time, especially with COVID.”

After traveling for a total of 21 hours, Praveen, his wife, Krishna, and two sons, Vihas and Arnav, had the opportunity to visit with extended family, which included both sets of the boys’ grandparents, their great-grandmother, who is 95 years old, and – what Praveen described as “too many to count” – aunts, uncles and cousins.

“This trip was extra special because we were able to show the kids where we grew up and went to school as well as some of the truly incredible places India has to offer.”

Among the sites Praveen and Krishna were able to share with their sons were the Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala and the India Gate, a war memorial often compared to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

“The kids were able to experience all types of transportation as we made our way from one destination to another,” Praveen said. “There were cars, three-wheeled autos, rickshaws and overnight travel on Indian Railways.”

Praveen and his family also visited the Lotus Temple, a house of worship made up of 27 free-standing marble-clad “petals,” and the Taj Mahal, which attracts more than five million visitors per year.

“I hadn’t been to the Taj Mahal since I was in ninth grade,” he said.

Praveen expressed his gratitude to Arthrex for the Trip of a Lifetime benefit and the opportunity to experience so much of India with his family.

“This really is a generous benefit for employees,” he said. “Arthrex is an amazing company, and I am proud to be a part of it.”

For his 10-year Trip of a Lifetime, Praveen and his wife have promised their sons they would go somewhere “fun,” but no less far away.

“Maybe the Middle East – Dubai and Abu Dhabi,” Praveen said. “Or possibly Australia and New Zealand.”

For every five years of employment with Arthrex, employees are eligible for a company-paid Trip of a Lifetime to recognize their dedication. Look for more Trip of a Lifetime highlights on the Arthrex Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn pages.
