Southwest Florida CBS affiliate WINK News recently shared the inspiring story of two Arthrex employees, Cheryl Foster and Adrienne Gossman, whose lives became forever connected through an extraordinary act of kindness.
Cheryl Foster has a rare, autoimmune kidney disease called Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), which she was first alerted about in 2014, through the Wellness Incentive program at Arthrex. She managed her condition with diet, medication and close monitoring by her doctor for many years. But now, she needs a kidney transplant to survive.
After Cheryl's story was shared on the Arthrex intranet, a dozen employees volunteered to be tested as potential donors. After going through weeks of extensive testing and intensive counseling by the donor advocacy team at Tampa General Hospital, Adrienne was approved.
