More than 50 employees from the Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. East (AMIE) Suture team recently used their Volunteer PTO day by dividing their efforts between two different neighborhoods being built by Habitat for Humanity of Collier County:
Employees spent their Volunteer PTO day framing, painting, picking up debris and laying sod.
Textile Manufacturing Supervisor Laura Molina said she’d never seen so many employees sign up to participate in a volunteer event before.
Not only did the team’s volunteer hours move the needle in completing construction projects throughout these two neighborhoods, the time spent onsite also qualified toward Habitat’s required 500 hours of “sweat equity” for two different individuals with ties to Arthrex.
“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each person who dedicated their time and energy to volunteering for this worthwhile cause,” said Suture Production Coordinator Teri McClain, who helped organize the team’s volunteer efforts. “Thank you for showing true teamwork and community spirit; your dedication is truly inspiring.”
“This was my third time volunteering with Habitat,” said Laura. “It’s a big goal – to get a house. People are excited. Not everyone has family close by to help them. It’s nice Arthrex gives us a day to help people in our communities.”
