As the final installment of the 2026 Orthopedic Patient Education Seminar (OPES) series, more than 450 community members came to Arthrex global headquarters in Naples, Florida to see how Arthrex innovation is helping treat spinal injuries and changing minimally invasive endoscopic spine procedures.
“Everybody has back pain, but this was very impactful for the community,” said Principal Clinical Specialist Michelle DiLella, MD. “Everyone was very focused on what we were presenting.”
The Medical Education team, including Michelle, Clinical Specialist Eric Johnson, Clinical Specialist Yeliana Pinchevski and Clinical Advisory Specialist Karen Stephens, presented on common causes of disc herniation and spine arthritis and the Arthrex innovations that can help treat these issues less invasively.
Arthrex faculty surgeon Edison Valle, MD, who attended the event, congratulated Arthrex and the Spine team on social media for the “wonderful, informative forum.”
“You guys are not only facilitating surgeons to treat patients better but educating patients that ultra-minimally invasive techniques and ortho/neurobiologics are the future of spine care!” he wrote in a LinkedIn post. “Happy and proud to witness how a Naples global company takes care of its own people!”
The OPES series bridges what is happening at Arthrex with our community.
“It really helps us link how we are making people better with the work we do here to the community,” Michelle said.
She is also looking forward to the next Spine OPES event.
“There were topics we didn’t get the opportunity to cover, like fractures, which affect a younger population, that I think will be of interest next time,” she said.
