STARability Foundation Honors Arthrex with STAR Award

Arthrex is pleased to have accepted the STARability Foundation’s STAR Award in 2024. Since 2022, we have partnered with the foundation to support inclusive opportunities for people with learning and developmental disabilities in our community.

The STAR Award recognizes Arthrex as a local business committed to providing employment and vocational training for people in the foundation’s Trailblazer Academy. The program supports participants with learning and developmental disabilities to learn new skills, build relationships and become active and valued members of the community.

Madison Nehls, Chief Program Officer, and Director of the STARability Foundation, presented the award to Arthrex.

“We’re honored to have the opportunity to engage with the Trailblazer participants,” said Arthrex Corporate Engagement Supervisor Meg Hardt, who accepted the award on behalf of the company, and also serves on the Foundation’s Board of Directors. “Our employees benefit as much as the participants, every time they visit our campus. Getting to know them has been such a rewarding experience.”

Trailblazer participants have helped with a variety of daily tasks at Arthrex, including projects like assisting with food preparation in the kitchen, folding towels at the Wellness Center, preparing visitor nametags and assembling new employee orientation folders.

“I always have a lot of fun volunteering here,” said Trailblazer participant Tiffany Weeks. “And I really love helping the culinary staff make the pizzas for lunch!”

Another participant, Daniella Garcia, said, “I like volunteering my time to help Arthrex because I get to learn all about what the company does and the different roles here.”

Arthrex is proud to continue this partnership, and we look forward to welcoming more STARability participants to our campus.

“We’re grateful to Arthrex for opening up their doors and helping our participants learn about the world of work,” STARability Foundation CEO Karen Govern said.
