New employee benefit offered to support families at Pendleton site, with Florida centers to follow
(PENDLETON, South Carolina – January 6, 2025) – Arthrex, a global leader in minimally invasive surgical technology, is proud to announce the grand opening of its first on-site childcare center for employees at AMISC (Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. South Carolina), its manufacturing facility in Pendleton, South Carolina.
Arthrex Academy - AMISC is the first of three centers to open, with additional centers currently in progress at the company’s global headquarters in Naples, Florida and at its manufacturing facility in Ave Maria, Florida.
“As part of our core value of Making People Better, Arthrex is committed to providing unique benefits and amenities that make a difference in employees' lives,” said Senior Vice President of Human Resources Kathy Sparrow. “With the rising cost and limited availability of childcare, these centers will give employees a convenient alternative and peace of mind knowing their young children are being cared for with the quality standards that Arthrex represents.”
Arthrex has partnered with Bright Horizons, the country’s largest provider of employer-sponsored childcare, to operate the three centers. The Pendleton location officially opened on October 7, 2024. The Naples location is slated to open in spring 2025, while the opening date for the Ave Maria location is anticipated for spring 2026.
Arthrex Academy features a Discovery Driven Learning® approach to inspire curiosity, health and safety policies backed by experts, and educator-created curriculum to support school readiness. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) learning opportunities are being incorporated throughout the facilities, which will include creative thinking stations aimed at inspiring innovation, interactive playrooms and green outdoor activity areas.
“There are so many benefits of Arthrex having its own childcare facilities,” said Director of Human Resources Melanie McLane. “In addition to providing the highest quality infant through kindergarten prep programs, we have the ability to align the centers' hours with our shift schedules, promoting a better work and family life balance.”
Full-time employees at AMISC are eligible to enroll their children, ages six months through six years old, at Arthrex Academy - AMISC. Teacher-to-child ratios at each center are designed to support one-on-one interactions, fostering an in-depth understanding of individual children’s needs and development.
The childcare centers will join a long list of Arthrex employee benefits, including free, onsite medical clinics, free lunches, transportation stipends, tuition reimbursement programs, years of service trips, annual bonuses and much more with private company values dedicated to caring for its employees.
